First up this week was a Toulouse win that was predicted by all eight in attendance at that point (apologies, Wanderer, intended to PM you a prompt but hadn’t time). A doubly good start for Van Elk with the correct margin.

A full quorum for the Trannies’ win (full house again). This time it was Atomic with the correct margin. Pokemon still on for eight players as Sunday dawned.

Let’s go to a squeaky one at LSV (uncomfortably close) but all assembled called the winner though universally by a less-anxious margin.

On to the Featherstone win. Eight called correctly with only Atomic hoping for a big shock. A third correct margin this week, this time for Cokey. Pokemon still on for seven folk.

A late kick-off saw a Barrow victory. Six called it with two bold draw predictions from WLJ & Atomic, and VL looking for a ‘Dale win.

The six remaining Pokemon hunters’ hopes exploded as Swinny pulled off a surprise at Sheffield – no points all round.

All that remained was the BBQ. 52 by Bongser’s reckoning. Varying points for all bar Pubbers (sure he’s just glad of a Leigh win). Fives for most of the others, with VL getting two.

This week’s winner, three clear of the chasing pack on 19, it’s Cokey!A 25 point pat on the head coming your way, Sir. :thumb:

Standings:

Charlie on 442
Atomic on 430
Wanderer on 396
Pubbers on 374
Zulu on 346
WLJ on 323
Bongser on 321
Cokey on 298
Van L on 234
J Diggers on 114
LX111 on 98
SaBadSel on 22

So then, it’s over to “the vasty fields of France” this weekend for an early, Saturday kick-off that sees the Cherry & Whites assuming the mantle of “sous-chiens”!

Saturday:

Toulouse X – YYY Leigh
Trannies XX- YY Dewsbury

Sunday:

Batley XX– YY Sheffield
Featherstone XX – YY Barrow
London XX – YY Rochdale
Swinton XX – YY Halifax

BBQ: Name the total of successful kicks o’er t’sticks (Cons, pens & DGs – both antagonists combined)
Bob-on for dix points
Within three pour cinq
Within five for deux.

As we’re fighting against the odds, here’s a little dare:
Anyone correctly predicting (Toulouse score first):
14-15 (Battle of Agincourt) will double their week’s score (before the WWB)
13-46 (Crécy) triple &
13-56 (Poitiers) quadruple.

Bonne chance! :thumb:

All three were battles (on French soil) which the English won against the odds. The bookies took a battering! Agincourt was fought in the year 1415. Sure you can therefore work out when the others were fought and why the optional scorelines are as they are

Were you to take any of the dares, the match, mathematically, would have to include (at least) one drop goal for you to be proven correct.

What's more, the multiple for each score increases with the lesser likelihood of it being correct (in this booky's reckoning). Fair's fair, if anyone goes for it, is proven correct and has thir week's score duly multiplied, Bongser will divide his by the same factor (and round it to the nearest whole number).

Geddit? If not, just ignore it. Good luck this week too!

As it happens, Charles, Bongser due to a pretty horrible malaise (in fact it wasn't at all pretty), ain't had a jar since Friday.

Just topped a weak one though.

All the Best!
