Without his input at the time, where do you think we would be:
a) at the time b) now
You've started to show a lot of bitterness towards him recently, and that's entirely up to you, he's made poor choices but we have to look forward, blame solves nothing
Bitterness, a resounding Yes,add to that anger as well , I've already said he has ruined the Club I love, whatever he did at the time means nothing now, we could be on the road to oblivion now, he handed out the 2 year contracts, knowing they would be useless if we didn't get into the top 4. I've said it before,if you take the plaudits you must be prepared to take the brickbats,I would do anything to save the Club, which is why I'm so angry,DB is is on par with the Blackpool lot now,it took many years to recover from them ,and it will be possibly be the same again now, hopefully someone will come in , once he has gone and recusitate the Club, I know it wont happen they won't till he shuts the door.
What happens to the Chairman ??Nothing has been been heard or said about him, very intriguing. Hopefully this answers your questions,at the time is irevalent, now we are in dire straits, I fear for the Club and it's future, I'm sure a fair few others Leythers do the same.
Myself , I will be at Dale on Sunday, at the LSV for the Batley game, and at Dews the week after, how many others will be there? Now that remains to be seen.

At the time , up a creek without a paddle
Now , possibly up a creek without a paddle , but nobody , and I mean nobody except Derek knows for sure , time will tell
In between ? , a lot of excitement , twice involved , twice in the top tier , but perhaps some of the obviously more talented posters on here would like a go , they obviously know all the answers to the ' problem ' that is Leigh RLFC

Charlie, our debt is to one man who has stated he will write it off if someone comes in with the money to take it forward or if players contracts are too high based on current reality then it folds to rise debt free and he will put 100k into the bank for newco. The chairman, Michael, left last year. Blackpool lot left with deeds to the ground, it got them 750k back, if you see similarities then you live in a strange place. Fwiw I see a decent short term future with a squad challenging for promotion/T4, reason being we will have crowds circa 3000 and great sponsors
Anyone can leave any job if things arnt to their liking , just because you & a few other people dont like it doesnt mean it wasn't right for him & that is all that matters at the end of the day
Not when under contract without caveats, it's not Paye or are you saying a club can offload players/coaches under contract without penalty also. I can understand why Paul may have left, and have no issue with that but it was the innuendos in his leaving speech which came out before a joint statement that was wrong, then the events that followed
Well, in my case it's not hindsight. I did say, at the time he took over, that one man control was always going to end like this. (just as it did with Arthur, bless him)

One man in charge for me is not a problem the problem is if that one man gambles everything without a plan b,if the club had built proper foundations on the back of the quality reserves we had at the time who knows were that would have took us when we had injuries and loss of form, would we now be established in superleague and would more and more youngsters be playing for LEIGH and would we not be throwing money away on poor overseas players..who knows but I'm sure we would be in a better position than we are now
