Unfortunately I don't see it as just effort & desire (but I reckon we have gone over this once or twice).
For me it's:
Lack of team (and some individuals) ability to defend, lack of variety & skills in attack and a huge problem with confidence.

Really agree on this. In recent weeks the effort appears to be there, it's those other factors which are perhaps setting us back.

Im am inclined to agree on the effort but I am not 100% convinced they desperately want the win more that the opposition.

As you say we are also lacking some basic components such as functional kicking game, defensive system, confidence, grit and working half back partnership.
