I'm a regular viewer of NRL games but Dufty does seem to go missing. However, he is currently playing for a poor Bulldogs side. And he seemed to play decent rugby when partnered with Widdop at the Dragons.
My best guess is that Thewlis would fill the void at Right Wing since Charnley is gone next season. Unless they plan to use Dufty in a similar way to Kurt Gidley when he was here, mixing between Full Back and Stand Off.
Dufty is absolutely rapid and I feel that we have been missing some line speed. Williams is good for running at the line but he's the only one really trying that. Although, King does tend to find a way to break the line even though he's fairly slow.
I'd love to see Wrench and Thewlis down the right hand side, with Dean starting at Scrum Half next season, focusing on the kicking game and general game management. With Williams at Stand Off, focusing on creating chances. But with a player like Dufty with his pace making dummy runs down both sides, both Dean and Williams would get effective support when spreading the ball.
And if we can get some big props, Clark can start breaking the line from fast play-the-balls again. So if there's anyone here close to the club, let them know Taniela Paseka at the Sea Eagles is the man for the job... Taller and heavier than Walmsley, also 8 years younger with loads of pace. Not even a starter, usually on the bench so could be poached away. But trust me, he's a tank.
Slightly off topic with some of this but if the above comments are the case for next season, I'd be excited about Matt Dufty coming in.
