I can see Powell leaving out Dean for this one and going with...

Philbin Bullock Walker J Clark or Davis
Powell has criticised Dean's kicking in the Wigan game. I think that is a little harsh. Plenty of other players could have been criticised for that Wigan game. A certain centre for one.
MT: By the sounds of what we’re hearing from you and the players, the right things are happening on the training pitch so have you been able to put more of a finger on why it’s not translating to game day?
DP: I think we just need to get more control in our game. We need to kick better to give our defensive starts more of a chance. If you look back at the Wigan game, we started loose defensively and that’s obviously an area we have to improve. We got back level and had a really good set straight after that but put a really loose kick in. Riley’s had some excellent bits of play in the two games he’s played but he put a couple of loose kicks in.

It appears to be the way at Wire - quick to have a dig at the young players, but the older heads seem to be immune from criticism. He could just as well have said "I'm pretty disappointed that I brought Oliver Holmes over from Cas with me, and he's done absolutely bugger all in three months", but that would be expecting too much, I suppose.

You know I don't think I can recall a time when a coach named a player in such a way as he did by singling out Dean. He fails to mention that Dean singlehandedly got us back into the game with a great individual try.
I would have thought the turnstyle left edge defence would have been further up the criticism list then a few poor kicks.
Identifying a young lad's kicks as one of the reasons we lost against Wigan, whilst seasoned pros stunk the place out is not on. Powell's first black mark for me.
