Well Matt Davis coming to Leigh next season so I’ve read - thoughts on him ??
Great attitude, proper grafter but a bit on the small side. I think he could make a really good hooker if he decides to specialise there, he's useful cover for the 2nd row, loose forward and hooker anyway and a really, really good squad player. Deserves to play more so a move is for the best IMO.

Could be a really handy player in the right pack. But can’t afford to carry a player like that with a beaten front row. Akin to Ben Harrison really, was never going to bowl over defenders, but always put his hand up for the ball and defends well.

You can never have a go at Davis as he always puts 100% effort in(unlike some!)which is all you can ask. As others have said, he'd be pretty handy as a bench hooker who can also cover back row.

i find that a bit of a puzzling comparison, harrison was a lot taller, and a lot broader, i'd aliken him more to mulhern if we were doing like for likes.
Also along the lines of like for likes.i did ponder this last year, joe cator at hull, he's probably same height as davies, not as thick in the shoulders, sky were raving over him being a fixture at 13 for fc. Mind as you say, you can probably get away with that when you've got 3 solid monsters starting in front of him/defending beside him

I prefer to have an extra forward that can cover the hooker position, on the substitute`s bench.
A specialist hooker on the bench is an expensive luxury, and the hookers in the NRL play for the full 80 minutes, so it is possible for Super League No. 9`s to do the same.
