Wether you want to believe it is up you’s.
About £1m of out cap is spent on 6 players.

Classic Duck throwing in a double negative to give some wriggle room (or am I being too kind)

I can't honestly see a massive turn around and i suspect the season will peter out.
It's strange though isn't it. When we played Cas only a few games into the season we looked pretty decent, if not spectacular and Cas were bloody awful. I was quietly hopeful then that we may turn out ok this season even if not challenging for silverware. I also thought that Cas being dreadful were likely to be in a relegation fight come the end of the season. How things have changed since then. We're on a downward spiral and Cas are playing some decent stuff sitting in a good position to be in the top 6. It's teams like Cas that have a much lower Cap than us and i think that's what is the most annoying thing. And i'm not the biggest fan of Lee Radford either. But i'd have never thought he would be going ok and Powell would be struggling at this point in the season..

Yeah, i didn't think we'd win anything this year to be honest, but i didn't think we'd be this bad and Disjointed.
Connor wrench should stay in the team i think, he gives it his all every game and plays really well. The kids are showing more heart, effort and determination then most of the squad.
We'll finish about 9th and that will be our season in a nutshell. Powell will change the team in the long run for the better, and the squad will be VERY different next year.
I'll just take each game as they come and enjoy the wins when we get them. Not worth getting stressed about to be honest. Disappointed and frustrating but that's it. I'm just focussing on who will sign for next year and who we will release, that's all i'm excited about now.

Hi, not a Wolves fan just a RL fan. Where is Mulhern going ? I really rate him. Also when Price was your coach, I’m sure that on a televised match Cooper shoved him out of the way when he was substituted. Maybe he is the rotten egg and that’s why Powell wants rid ? Just a neutral observation.

I remember that incident, but I think you're reading too much into it. Cooper was disappointed in his own performance. However, if it's true he doesn't buy into Powell's philosophy (I've not seen any hard evidence that backs that up BTW, just rumours) then it's the right thing to let him go. Coops has spent a lot of his career under the NRL-style banner, firstly in Aus under Bennett and Price, then back here under Price again. Maybe he won't suit our future plans, which would be a shame as he's the 'original' of the 'new' home-grown Warringtonian GB standard players that have emerged over the last 10 years or so.

Also, as disappointed as I am with the way this season has panned out, I'm not totally disheartened. We have a lot of decent young talent breaking through and waiting in the wings. The props aren't as bad on paper as they are currently performing, despite us being a bit lightweight, it's just they've lost their oomph for whatever reason. The senior players don't seem to be able to steer us in the right direction.

Last year, Hudds looked awful under Watson, and we were all told the mercurial Sezer was keeping them clinging together and that they'd be lost when he went to Leeds. Funny how the reverse has happened in Watson's second year. I'm quietly hopeful that over the off-season things will be brought back to basics with some of the old guard moving on and a fresh start with no 'failure' hangover from the old days. Thewlis, Dean, Wrench, Longstaff, Ashton and Walker are all more than good enough to be mainstays of this team. The sooner the better for me. Add to that a refreshed Williams as the only marquee and a few uncovered gems from outside (plus a couple of big bad props) and Powell can finally get to do what he does best.

Hopefully we'll re-sign Mulhern as he's not a world beater but he's solid and consistant, And at 27 he's just hitting his prime with room for improvement.
The Cooper price "incident" was nothing at all, Cooper just bumped shoulders with price as we walked back to the bench. Price himself laughed when asked about it and said there's nothing in it at all.
I completely agree EasyWire, Powell changed Castleford for the better and progressed them overtime so i have all faith in him to turn us in to a solid team.
You'll get the usual people crying that Castleford were pretty bad in his last year or so in charge of them, but so were we under Smith at the end, Does that mean smith was a bad coach.....no, not at all. Come mid-season next year if we're still crap i'll start looking at Powell then. Until then he has my full support.

I feel a bit silly having written this earlier. By the afternoon we look like we've signed another NRL failure that pees all over my hopes, and worse still over the aspirations of our best young player.
