Yes I totally agree with that, but what I also think is needed is a Farrell / Sinfield / O'Loughlin influence that guides the behaviour. How often have we seen this team get easily rattled under pressure, resulting in unnecessary penalties or errors at crucial times in important games? I just think we need that steadying influence. I'm not convinced Hughes is it, or was it anyway. Hopefully I'm wrong and Powell can transform him.

I think Widdop, D.Clark, Ratch or Coops could all be captain but it would detract from their game - in much the way it did for Chris Hill.

In terms of 'leaders', those are the guys that should step up on the field and that others will look to.

We've not got a Moz or Briers unfortunately (irrespective of whether they had the title 'captain', they were leaders on the park), but in all my years of watching Wire, there arent many times I could say we had that calibre of leader.
