Cullen article in Guardian : Tue Jan 11, 2022 9:05 am
Just had a read of the article on Cull. It’s easy to forget the influence he had off the field for the club: The move to the Wolf-themed marketing, the creation of the Wolf Pack to help grow our future fan base. The designing of some of our most well-known jerseys.

He was sort of a Karl Fitzpatrick, but one who came up with all those novel ideas whilst still turning out for the club every Sunday afternoon. Shame it went the way it did with the coaching career, but every coaching position ends that way at some point.

What is he up to these days? You don’t see him offering analysis on the TV anymore.

Ah okay, thanks. I do remember now from last season. I’m surprised he’s not picked a commercial role at a club.

Almost like asking Ozzy Osbourne to be a guest speaker at a local Temperance Society

Probably the biggest overall influence on the club in my 35 years of watching. Legend of a bloke, deserves some kind of ambassadorial role if anyone does.

I'd agree, but might pose a conflict of interest if he was also working for the RFL disciplinary committee? I'd rather he was more undercover and letting our boys off from afar.

I think quite the opposite seems to happen. Perhaps he is very wary of being accused of favouritism towards Warrington as we seem to get absolutely clobbered whenever one of our boys appears before the committee.

Tom Lineham, even though he had only himself to blame for the numerous times in front of the panel, did seem to get more severely punished than others, for a very similar offence.
