We have had many at Saints and Wigan as well as many to forget. But what about other memorable games that stick in your mind for off the field events. It maybe the wet win at Wheldon Road, the jojo/michael monaghan magic match, the cup game at Hunslet where the score-keeper kept getting the score wrong on his easel, the game at Leeds where their fans thought we had broken a minutes silence, when it was actually a young lad drumming in the garden behind. For me, one is a win at Huddersfield, probably in the noughties, a night match that had a massive Wire following sat in a stand on the side of the pitch for some reason. We won, which helps. There was a flukey try with a rebound off Gary Hulse I think. There was a lot of fun, baiting a butch steward trying to get people to sit down. We had a laugh with Neil Kelly tripping on his way to the gantry above, he had been sacked by Widnes a few days earlier. Anyone know the date of this game?
For me winning an end of season premiership game at Central park..Paul bishop banging over 5 drop goals to totally pee the pie munchers and there players off..great days
For all those who have turned up to school and have forgotten their PE kit, it has to be Cas away. John Woods, Des Drummond and a very entertaining 40-30 win.

Was that the 2003 game, start of March? When we played in a silver away kit? I was watching on TV while ironing my shirt to go out. Then I switched to Abu Dhabi TV and watched the start of the war in Iraq. I think it was literally that same time as the game when the ‘Shock and Awe’ campaign suddenly burst into life (or death) and all the TV stations were there to cover it. The poor ADTV reporter nearly got hit on the balcony where he was filming.

That would have been July 2004, and if my memory is correct that's the week we announced the signing of Martin gleeson (and also the afternoon I was supposed to be picking up a new mattress while the ex wife took the daughter to see Harry Potter and the prisoner of azkaban, and I decided to go the game instead, funny how you remember thosethings (by those thing I mean the massive bollocking when I got home))

Remember attending that one. Great stuff as you say. The Wiganners around us were absolutely fuming with some arguing that our tactics were not in the spirit of the game .......
Also have to agree that the Cas away 40-30 win was also a belter. A master class from the superb John Woods.
We have had some great away days following the Wire but by crikey we have seen some rubbish. Still, you only remember the good times. Hopefully some more happy away days are on there way.

I was there, drop goal tastic from Bish that was. Another good one for me was the challenge cup match away at Halifax. 1994? January. Cold at Thrum Hall. Jiffy scored a couple of wonder tries, live on BBC. Very happy days…

Was the game worth the penance of sleeping on the old mattress in the garage, shed or garden if you didn't have the first two options available?

Had lunch in the Turnpike on the road that runs alongside the M62, before that game (Paul Medley's sister was landlady, there, at some point in time). Jiffy was world class on that afternoon, as he was on many others.
