Good interview with Daryl Powell online today. Seemed very upbeat about his move to the area and appeared really chuffed with the welcome he has received from the local public.

Revealed that he has spent the last few days meeting all the players individually, to discuss targets and expectations and indicated that he is happy with the players at his disposal.

Most crucially, he was very positive about wanting the side to play an entertaining brand of RL and, with what must be music to the board's ears, wants a style of play that will bring more supporters through the turnstiles, stating he would love to be playing in front of a full, vibrant stadium.

Also, a nice little section at the end when he was questioned about being perceived as miserable - was more than happy to laugh at himself and his reputation and pretty much admitted that the 'miserable' persona was simply his game face and he was a much more jovial chap away from matchplay.

Overall, though just a short interview, he came across well and I hope his positivity isn't a shortlived thing and that he can transfer some of it to the squad. I really got the feeling that the players will find working and training under him a bit more enjoyable than under Price.
And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

Yep, came across very well. I just pray he gets a new prop (or 2) from Santa.

Excellent interview and made the kind of noises I'd expect from a talented coach, as opposed to the uuumms and aaaahhs that dominated SP interviews.

Good taste in coffee shops too, none of this Starbucks nonsense, though I prefer a nice cup of tea personally.

I never thought I'd be saying this more to do with my perception of him being a misery than fact but following the interview I felt quite pleased he's here.

Well he has identified the 20 metre out issue, if he solves it I’m sure we will all be a lot happier!
Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

But we haven't got any props so we won't get within 20 metres....

But our second row stops every moves...

But Ratchford is past it and/or should be playing centre/loose forward/on the bench...

But we play Darryl Clark too much. Give Walker more game time...

But Ashton's defence is rubbish...

But we shouldn't have let Mamo/Hill/Lineham go...

Repeat ad nauseum.

I’m hoping your optimism will grow faster than that concrete I planted yesterday
