I see there are reports of a bit in Sonny Bill's book that a Super League club (Believed to be Warrington) almost signed him in 2008 before he first moved to Union.

He says he agreed to come over for the deal and the club panicked (Phrased differently) and pulled out of it.

Boggles the mind to think what could have happened had a 2008 Sonny Bill been running around the HJ. Also makes you wonder how many other rumours over the years have been very close to being true.

It only took us a couple of games to turn Andrew johns bang average, we'd have done the same to sonny bill.

I'll beat RD to it, can he play prop (in 2022)?

Probably he would have played about half a season with us in 2008 when we were crap and Cullen quit, he would have completely hated it and regretted not taking up the RU offer.

Seeing as he had walked out of the Bulldogs midseason the year before and then by the sounds of his claim in this book he was ready to walk out on his contract at Toulon to join Warrington, I don't think he would have hung around long with us under Jimmy Lowes. Another RU team would have come in for him and he would left us probably in acrimonious circumstances.

We got Louis Anderson instead in 2008 and overall he contributed more than I think SBW would have.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned seeing his car in the paint shop ,getting signed up ready for his arrival on Boxing Day.

Boxing day is ironic, as SBW states that winning the NZ Heavyweight championship was the highlight of his career. I cannot imagine him ever being remotely interested in coming to Warrington, never mind serious about it.
