Sorry wrong Frenchman , Theo Fages
Theo Fages that has played exclusively at scrum half since the start of last season?
We're better at the moment when Aaron Smith is on. But Roby isn't the issue as he missed a lot of the games we lost. He's old, but he's still class and his defending is still top notch. The problem is the players haven't taken to Woolf's new methods, all very NRL grind and wrestling based and it's not been accepted. There is that players and existing staff v new coach battle going on. Woolf missed a trick by not insisting on new signings. Even just one or two players he'd worked with previously would have helped him a lot in getting them to buy into how he wants to play the game. His philosophy is about being physically dominant and bullying your opposition with your defense and completing sets in attack, suffocate the opposition. Fine when you've got Jason Taumalolo and his friends terrorising the opposition, but not going to work at Saints with the players we've got. That's the big clash at the moment, he's trying to play old school Bradford/London/Tongan big boy tactics and it's just not us.
