Sums my drive home to a tee. Bang on. Its depressing how the season has ended. No idea at all, no attack, no idea, no fluency, completely disjointed. The cup win has papered over cracks and kept Price in the job, so unfortunately, itl be same again next year im afraid.

If we were to sack him , it wouldn't be harsh .
It wouldn't, i agree. The whole attitude of the club is wrong. Wigan wouldn't stand for a season like this, and there would be changes on the back of it. The mentality of the club should be demanding we win everything on offer, especially being the biggest spenders in the league. To go out at this point of the season is pathetic, it really is. This accepting mediocrity was evident last night. Some bloke said to me (who i respect, and is very knowledgeable about the game) said, 'well at least we won one of the major trophy's'. For me, that there is all thats wrong with the club!! I want the big one, the GF, the championship!! No matter how much we don't like the format of how its achieved, thats what you have to do to win it, at all costs!! As long a we just 'settle' the further away from winning it we will get. Singing, taking the mickey out of our selves with the, even more now annoying, 'Always Our Year' chant, just breeds mediocrity. Its really starting to get on my wick now.
Its not just personnel changes we need, its the mentality of the club from top to bottom. We need a Shaun Wane character (if not actually Shaun Wane), someone who wont stand for it, will want to change the mentality at the club, only accept the best and more. Yeah Wigan didn't play attractive rugby, but it wasn't as boring as last night. They just executed perfectly when attacking.
For me, changes needed, but it wont happen!!

Exactly Longbarn, nail on head. I think with the woeful attempt at the penalty last night and taking an AGE to take it that the players genuinely didn't want to progress or weren't bothered. Price needs to go, the captaincy could do with being taken from Hill as well, a mongrel leader of a prop is a necessity, the team also need some on-field brains from somewhere and hopefully J Clark gets homesick. Rabbitohs fans have been asking for him to go back along with Goodwin......I'd pay the air fare.
Moran and Middleton did not build their respective empires with sloppy decision making, but they appear happy to float up and down the creek without a paddle when it comes to the Wire. Its time for them to man up and start wielding the axe. Sending scripture from our very own oracle Mr Longbarn wouldn't be out of place for me.

at times they don't look like anyone knows what they are doing in attack....literally no clue. It's a squad full of mediocrity punctuated by some very very good players. Widdop will make a difference next year no doubt...but he can't play behind a lightweight, beaten pack.
They play a VERY conservative brand of rugby, no off-loading, very little open field running. It's all crash bang wallop down the middle... usually ending with a bang average kick in the air. The centres offer little if nothing at all to their wingers...who play like make weight forwards.
Patton is poop. Offers absolutely nothing at all when he has the ball in his hands. Nothing.
The cup win was a glorious, freak performance that will go down as one of our greatest wins. Current league form carried into next year will see us facing a relegation battle.
