It is looking like St George will not qualify for the NRL playoffs so it could happen if Kevin Brown is not retained on the salary cap.

When is he likely to be fully fit?

Clearly he has never done this in the past and thus has never deserved to be in a final, i suspect that the same scenario will occur tomorrow.

Super League signing deadline is 9th August (Widdop was initially thought to be fit around round 20-23 which is 10th - 14th August time), at that point there will be 5 games of the NRL season left. As it stands St George are only 2 points off 8th, would have to be some shocking form from them in the next 5 or 6 games to be completely out of the running by the 9th August.

I would love to see it happen, even if I dont think it will. Even if it didn't help us for 2019 much, to have him used to the players & systems from round 1 in 2020 would be invaluable.

Great listen as always,
One thing clear if you do listen, is it is pointed out by the guys that Widdop didn’t talk too much about Wire as he’s focused on this year at St George, so would be very surprised if we do see him this year.
