I thought we could talk about the game as we have threads for the ticket sales.

Are we all feeling confident of getting the win or are their some nerves?

I think it may be closer than we imagine and am a bit concerned of the "wounded tiger". I can imagine Wigan are up for this as a cup run is just what they need at the moment.

I guess if their defensive strength is restored we may struggle for points as we did in the GF.

Or am I trying to talk up a fixture we should win at a canter?

Wigan were absolutely woeful against London but I've been watching them long enough to know they are unlikely to be that bad on Sunday.

We've yet to regain the heights of Hull away so I'd agree, probably closer than many woukd expect but we should still be 10-14 points better.

Hopefully dry pitch and Blake in his pomp for the TV.

We had a very dry pitch against Salford.

You prefer a mud slogathon with Bullock and Flower ploughing through us all afternoon? We've won plenty in mud and lost plenty in sun but give me decent weather any day.

I have a sneaky feeling this is their game. The league is looking unlikely for them and a good cup run, possibly even a Wembley win is easily achievable with the squad they have. Lots of revenge on their mind after last year too.

Having said that, I’m not sure a good cup run would do US any favours for our GF ambitions. Won’t be the end of the world if we lose.

As easyWire referred to there, I'm so desperate to win a GF that I'd appreciate the big silver lining if we were to lose.

That said, would still love to win.

I'll have both please and I'm sure Saints will be thinking the same and.I certainly hope the club is.

If we lose, I'll be gutted, same as always.

Exactly how I feel. There are bigger fish in this year’s pond. I also have a bad feeling for Sunday, but won’t be too disheartened if we lose as long as it’s not a humiliation. I don’t expect it to happen, mind you.

FWIW This is the least excited/bothered I’ve been about the cup and/or a Wigan game in my whole time of watching the Wire. Not sure what that really says.

It probably says we've played Wigan too many times in recent seasons. Of course. GFs and Magic Weekends have been much responsible but the loop fixtures are beginning to make it look like overkill. Though I'm also probably not too bothered about the season-effects of Sunday's result, it is a perfectly fine frame of mind to adopt that we want and expect to beat Wigan every time we play them. They've had that view of us for a long time.

It's Wigan, it's knock out rugby and it's one of only two prizes to play for (three if you wish to count the hubcap).
