Good signing. If we can afford to spend more than the cap by using marquee or RU exceptions then why not.
I know it would be great to have a production line to bring through players like Percival but if we have assessed the readiness of the players in those positions and they are not ready yet then then this is a clever way to bolster the squad.


Based on the 17 for the last game and fast forward to july we have Westwood, King, Currie, Mamo, Akoala,Luis Johnson, Moran, Jack Johnson who have all played for the first team and then Davis and Burrell available to play but sat watching (pure theory based on last match day 17)
That is a pretty deep squad apart from 6,7 & 9
Looks like we will be going with Ratch, Livett and maybe King as back ups if an injury in the halves unless we can get Owen Farrell on a similar deal as back up to Austin and Patton.

Well it is time to realise how fortunate we are. Fantastic signing by the club and shows the ambition of the club’s directors and Karl is far advanced compared to all our rivals. Can’t really understand the negativity of some of our own fans but you know we are rattling some cages when the Saints fans visit. Austin, an English RL international and now an English RU international. They are here because they are scared. They know they cannot compete at the same level. McManus, Lenegan and Hetherington know it too. Times have changed since we had to sell Sculthorpe and Harris so it is time to enjoy a new era. Warrington Wolves are headline news and the best players want to come here. I have watched Warrington since 1958 so sit back.....enjoy.

I agree, fella.

The amount of petty jealousy, regarding anything we do, is hilarious.

Fitzpatrick is now beginning to earn his money. I admittedly, questioned his appointment to his high ranking role, but now, he's becoming a proper mover and shaker in RL terms.

Add to this, the turn around from 18 months ago, when Smith announced he was leaving. We had no real direction in getting a new coach. The silence from the club was deafening. We got Price, and the majority of Wire fans were unimpressed. After a shaky start, we went on a winning run. Got to two finals (yes, I know we lost em, but, no on give us a cat in hell's, in February)

We now have a respected Aussie half back, a famousish RU player joining us in 5 months, and a top notch International RL player, with a decade of NRL experience, next year.

The club's going places. Long may it continue. As well as jealousy from West Burtonwood

The ambition of the clubs directors is that advanced you’ve won nothing since 2012. If you consider Luther Burrell to be one of the best players (don’t know how when you’ve never watched him play rugby league) then you’re severely deluded, a rugby union has been is what he is.

Price & Fitzpatrick are tasked with pulling together the best squad they can, using all the exemptions available to them. Sentimentality about youngsters shouldn’t come in to it, just build the best squad you can. Johnson et al will still get their chance.

As for where he’ll play, I guess he’s being lined up as centre to replace Atkins. We need to run with 3 quality centres in a squad, so we have space there for 2020 (Goodwin, King, Burrell).

On another note, our salary spend for 2020 must be set to be the biggest in SL history you’d think. Two marquees and a RU player off cap.

Who are the 3 quality centres you’re going to be buying?
