My favourite was this one from 2002:

https://www.warringtonguardian.co.uk/ne ... latliners/

Anderson said: "The players have been exposed to something completely different and new.

"At times the play on the field is going to look ordinary. At times we're going to look like we do not know where we're going or what we're doing.

"I've told the boys it is going to look terrible. They have to be patient with it and not expect miracles."

Full marks for expectations management about the grim season ahead.

Perhaps he should have told the fans too.
Although it didn't take us long to work that out for ourselves.

What's worrying me, is how he passed the interview
Neither glass half full or empty. Just a realist.

You said “we” were being overly critical, given that I haven’t seen anyone else criticising DC for these issues I wondered if you were using the “royal” “we” in the way that the queen does meaning “I”). I hope that clarifies it but reading back I’m not sure it will have.
Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

I would agree Clark is relatively easy to read from dummy he has the advantage of being good enough for it not to make a difference, kinda like wigans predictable move from a few seasons ago, you can see it know what's going to happen but cannot do anything about it. If he could hide that then add the step out it would make quite a significant differance. He is on the off season thread as a big rep that has delivered I personally don't think he has, not a criticism but given his mos performance at cas at a young age it would have been reasonable to have expected him to add these skills to his game to be the England no9 etc maybe my expectations were unrealistic he has consistantly been one of our better players and performed well, would I be happy if he was to leave no but I just think he could and should have taken robys shirt by now in the England set up. And be thee booker in super league.

I have refrained from posting it for a while as again he is a very good player who brings an awful lot to the team in defence and attack. Hope the new lad puts him under proper pressure for that first team spot over next few seasons that is probably what he has been missing

Anyways hopefully this off season we've worked mainly on attacking structures and plays, I think a lot of time was put into defence when price first arrived which on the whole I think worked out well we were more resilient than previous years. Aside from integrating new players into this I think going forward is something that we can really improve upon not just the half's but second row n centres running lines options if we can see a significant improvement in this then we can have a genuine chance at a gf. I would like to see widdop joining and helping us to retain the grand final :D

I hope that the reduction in the number of substitutes will mean DC running at tiring defences to good effect later in the game!
