Sorry, when I posted this item yesterday I missed the main part of the item. They are saying they are actually starting an 8-team 8-city Rugby League up in 2010 and there is an application form to fill in for any player, RL or RU who would like to join one of the teams. This seems pretty well advanced, does anyone know anything about it ? http://www.amnrl.com/

looking at American sports i would think (a hunch) Rugby League has more chance of taking off than football (soccer) purely because American football is their No.1 sport and it shares some characteristics.

If the Yanks propelled Rugby L into a high end sport it would do wonders for the sport internationally and help kick the inferior code into the dark ages
