I’m a bit surprised by the negativity on here. They threw a lot at us, and offloaded at every chance. We struggled to contain that, but we defended absolutely superbly. Even though we conceded two, we were in the frame on both. The first, right at the end of the first half, Leyland would have liked to have done better but we scrambled to make a challenge of it.
The second, let’s face it that Cotric kick was a hit and hope and the bounce sat nicely for Keary. Still, Powell makes it back to make a good challenge.
They are both tries, but I think we can take something from keeping them out for 38 minutes in the first and 33/34+ minutes in the second half. Particularly with the three key penalties against Currie, Crowther and Dufty which were all stupid in truth.
I got the same feeling this week as last week that we had gears left, but we couldn’t find them. If we can, and we can tidy up the discipline, there’s a decent team there.
