Sale R.U. haven't changed their name and haven't played in Sale for a long time. Their crowds are alot better than Salford's, why is this?

Is old traffird not in Manchester, last time i went it was and all the times before it was.

Old Trafford is in Trafford and Trafford is not and never has been in the city of Manchester.

Maybe they moved it from The Metropolitan Borough of Trafford to the City of Manchester just for you, good arn't they.

Yes, but Greater Manchester is a borough, not a town. I wish Swinton well, but it wont make a jot of difference, as people have said, Salford don't get supporters from the wider Manchester conurbation and it's 4 miles closer to Manchester.

If they had to adopt the Manchester name what would have been wrong with Manchester Swinton Lions. Seems to work ok for Aussie teams, Cronulla Sutherland, St George Illawarra etc. Could have been a good branding thing; using ‘MSL’ on leisurewear etc.

True, Swinton aren’t exactly a household name currently, but you can’t just disregard 100+ years of history.

Indeed, when they played at Gigg Lane, they were known as Swinbury Lions.

So do Leeds not play in Leeds as they play in Headingley Trafford is an area of Manchester.

Bizarre argument. Of course Old Trafford is in Manchester.

The Man Utd website gives their address as Manchester, as does the Royal Mail.
