The game would be more popular if we had some boxing/WWE style staged drama before a game, instagram selfies of the players with rabbit ears on the big screen at half time, the officials having stand offs and colourful managers like Mourinho who act like sulking teenagers...sod it let’s go for it. The modern world, where words like vlogger, YouTuber, Facebook famous,instagramable and flossing exist, your music is mass produced and voted for in a popularity contest and there’s an online platform for narcissists to give themselves the name Call me God. U ok hun?

American high schools get larger attendances than SL games, with smaller catchment areas. That to me would suggest that people in the areas of northern towns in the uk find rugby league boring

£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.  |
