Can't wait for Vastman's assessment on this. Where is Vasty anyway ?

I'm here, thanks for asking.

My current assessment of Westerman is that he's a player passed his best who may or may not offer us something we don't have. A lot depends on his attitude, which has never been great.

The Westerman issue I had, which I assume is what you are referring to is the ridiculous hype amongst many Cas fans at the start of the lads career where you touted him as the next Brad Fittler, utterly laughable at the time, which I pointed out and of course have been proved correct.

It was obvious that at 18 he didn't have the right attitude and that has never changed and never will. Like most clubs we'll probably pay him over the odds and get one or two decent games in return, I simply can't wait.

Just another player who never reached the potential he could have done if only he had the right mentality. Sad really.

"I'm sorry, but I would hope that we would beat Cas with a 1 day turnaround."

An arrogant Wigan fan a few days before we stuffed them 18-4 at the JJB.

At 18 us Cas fans could only go on potential, of which you agree he had. In 2008 he won young player of the year for the league.

I agree his attitude has held him back. At the time I thought he could go on to be capped by his country many times, that hasn't happened. It could have though had he had his head screwed on. I still think he's a very capable player. I don't think hull fans are delighted he's going. Can Wakefield get that focus and consistency from him ? If yes then I think you have a good player and he strengthens you. I'd take him.

I'm fairly sure you held dale Ferguson in a similar light.

Is Joe Westerman a model professional? No

Has he ever reached the potential he showed as an 18 year old? No

Despite that, is he still a quality player? Yes

Will he improve Wakefield on the pitch? Definately

I like Westerman and I would too say he would improve us definitely if it was just an addition to the squad, but the fact that he will be replacing our most consistent, hardest working forward, ultimately I am not 100% sure it does improve our squad overall.

Think Westerman will be replacing Arona :( . Think we’ve already bagged Kirmond’s replacement.

Sad really as T is massive for us I think but it’s a quota spot and he’ll have to bounce back from a terrible injury.

Let’s see what transpires...

Watkins to Gold Coast confirmed. Leaving in 2 weeks after the Catalan game.

I wonder who Leeds will throw big money at to replace him? Can't see them going the rest of this season not doing so
