JESUS WEPT :WALL: HOW MANY TIMES?????
£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

Re: Are Leigh destined for League 1? : Wed Nov 14, 2018 7:19 pm
Just heard a rumour that there's some new investment heading in the direction of Leigh.

I'll "temper" the rumour by saying it comes from an NRL source, currently active in the NSW cup who has heard that a number of players have been targeted by a scout looking for players for a recently relegated SL side.....can't be Widnes as their squad is looking complete, so I am just joining the dots here and I may be wrong. (has happened before)
Maybe Del Boy was just trying to remove the last £80,000 obstacle to a sale of the club?

Latest rumour

13 players signed up for Leigh, and a cash injection from a current sponser.

The fact that Derek Beaumont ignored the small £60 fine imposed by the policeman, and drove off, rendering himself now up for penalties and court costs totaling £569, tells me that Derek Beaumont is a petulant and irrational individual, with too much money to spare. His choice of a bright orange colour for his luxury car also tells me that he is a vulgar and tasteless attention seeker.

If it fell off,it fell off. It was in the boot. Its a non endorsable offence. Not sure why you are spouting "penalties"? You obviously don't carry the same weight in your citreon cv2 Jean.

You do seem to have an inferiority complex regarding DB! I would suggest seeking medical advice at your earliest convience.

To be fair I work with someone who knows DB away from Rugby (In fact he knew him before he got involved with Leigh) and on this occasion, the pseudo Frenchmen is right. He is a larger than life character who likes to show off how rich he is.

I now need a beer after posting that.

I've known Derek personally for close on 30 years now , and worked with him in the past at Leigh RLFC

He works hard and plays hard , he earns money and is happy to spend that money , if he didn't , he wouldn't have spent a sizeable chunk of cash on Leigh

Was I surprised when I saw his ' low key ' ' ride ' ? No , he does like to flaunt it a bit , but , if you've earned it , that's your perogative

Personally I never criticise anybody , be that Derek , Argyle or anybody who is willing to finance any RL club , they are few and far between

if bits are dropping off that car I'd take it back
come on we all know he doesn't want it on the front and to say it dropped off is childish, there is always someone who thinks they are above the law

Seems straightforward to me. There was no number plate on display on the front of the car. Therefore, offence committed - whatever the 'reason'. If I wasn't displaying a plate on the front of my (admittedly, non-orange) Yaris ( :D ) I would expect to be pulled.

It always used to make me laugh when on the news it had something about Mario Balotelli when he was at Man City , it showed his car , but blocked out the number plate

Seriously how many Bentleys are there driving round Manchester ( because he wouldn't drive anywhere else ) covered in ' camouflage ' paint jobs ?
