Pretty accurate.

The key point missing however (what a surprise!) is that 58% of Australia's population lives in Queensland, NSW and the ACT.

Hence, rugby league continues to call the shots regarding expansion of the other codes in Australia.

The AFL's rush to not miss the boat in those States/Territory - too late I am afraid as the history since 1908 shows - is the clearest evidence of this.

He didn't write it but just check out his website (the roar) which is where the article was from...

In my view, anything on that site is immensely suspicious to begin with.

well most people argue that AFL is number 1 over all of australia.

they can see that NSW and queensland > rest.

Agree with you on all of that. a team in every state would be good but is a team in adelaide really that crucial? it would be last on my list of candidates for expansion. i'd say CC, Perth, Wellington, 2nd Qld in the next 10-12 years and Adelaide as a ultra long term goal.

People dismiss Adelaide yet forget:
1. It is the countries 5th biggest city with more than double the popualtion of the GC and FOUR times the CC.
2. The Rams were actually well supported and quite succesful off the field
3. It opens up a NEW audience area

Whilst not a priority there should be a long term goal and plan to re establish the game there at all levels. the Southern Sharks has a nice ring to it!
