Whats your opinion on what Brian Noble suggested about union players.

It's clearly the twisted brain-wrong of a one-off man-mental.

A Wigan coach trying to get round the salary cap by making an outrageous signing? Well I never........

Thank God Chris Irvine was talking sense.

I think 'homegrown' referred to players who had come through Hull's academy system, as opposed to UK born players.

All credit to Huddersfield for playing 15 UK born players yesterday, though, and for the performance they put in.

Brian Noble, and the other anonymous 'great thinkers', comments were beyond a joke. Far beyond. Rather than invest in the grass roots of OUR game to increase the future GB playing pool, he suggests signing 14 highly paid Union internationals on ridiculous salaries. He claims it would be worth it if only ONE were to make the grade!

Has he been living in a cave for the last 10 years? RU is now full time professional. The Guiness Premiership salary cap is £4million. It's fair to say the top players will probably be on £300k+. To sign 14 of these would equate to an investment in excess of £4million per year. All the hope of signing ONE who would enhance our game at international level!

His comments were embarrassing, more for him than for the game itself. But it is scary that someone who has such a prominant voice within the game has such other-worldly ideas.

I've missed it, are there any replays.

Its available via the red button on the BBC. Go to Sports Multiscreen and it is on the menu and playing on a loop (programme lasts about 45 minutes).

I am still amazed at the fact that out of 18 BBC One regional channels only 4 got to watch the Super League Show.

I saw it for the first time today, pressed the red button during the Yawnion and there it was, won't be in too much of a hurry to watch it again.

The only interesting bit was Nobby's argument about signing Yawnion players, and that was only for the pure comedy value. The RU Home Nations are thinly stretched for genuine world class players as it is, hence why half their clubs are on the verge of going tits up for paying over the odds for what is around.
