I was stood directly in line with that pass and it was about a yard forward.
Didn’t see the Hood incident, Fafita despite being so far away as I was at the time like you say looked to be gesturing at a Fev player with Seni Lafao simply holding him calming the situation. Nothing in it at all.
had another good look on video and i still convinced the ball was flat... but that's the danger of the human brain,,, eye witness testimony is not reliable...
This is a double edged sword and reminds me of our promotion team. It is more than capable of gaining promotion. It’s full of players past their peak but still more than capable especially at Championship level. However once in SL that team would have to be completely rebuilt and that’s not easy even for a rich club.
It’s worth noting that for the last 20 minutes Fev were wllting and we were visibly stronger and fitter, had we shown an ounce of composure we could and should have won. Fev hung on because our ineptitude in attack kept giving them renewed vigour but that was a friendly, to replicate that ten or more times to stay in SL is a massive ask.
I don’t blame Fev and they have to get into SL to at least give it a go but it’s a fine line. As Phantom has stated, every time they get a young prospect they lose him and that’s the curse of a promotion seeking team. We were hugely lucky in our early SL years as we did manage to save a few kids and have some depth but it was tight.
Hope Fev do come up but the team that emerges will need to be very different from the one they have now in my opinion.

Good performance from Feath last weekend (better than us anyway) and it looks like they are having a real go for SL, with 3 new additions today.

I agree re rebuilding the team, they have a few players who could do a job in SL but they would need 20+ new players which is difficult to achieve when you are picking up the scraps from what is left once the established SL teams have had their pick.
I think the last 20 was more to do with our bench than Fev wilting though. I haven't rewatched the game but on the day it felt like we put on players who were at the younger end of our senior squad and who hadnt had game time prior to that such as Aydin and Batch and others who had, had a good rest whereas Fev had to reintroduce the likes of Moores and Seni Laffao. I also think the younger lads brought a level of enthusiasm that the more established fist team players failed to show for the first 60 minutes.

Well, we all see it differently but from where I was stood Fev were on the rack or at least should have been in the last 20, they looked tired to me. We looked energised but lacking in ideas, mainly because Miller thought he would be a playmaker, he is a great little player but I think most agree that he can't run a game, he needs to step back from that one. Gaskell has taken some stick but Miller didn't help him, they certainly didn't seem to be singing off the same hymn sheet, It's a shame because we know exactly what Miller is capable of whereas we don't know Gaskell's true potential. It needed to be the Gaskell show and it wasn't.

No I agree they were flagging but they were having to rotate players back on who had already played big minutes like you would do in a normal game.
We were bringing on lads off the bench on 60 minutes who hadn't had any game time (at least I don't they had) due to the size of our named squad.
I think Gaskill showed some really classy touches and looked more direct than Milky but he just wasn't in the game enough for me.

Leigh looked gassed at one point mid second half and we were starting to get a foothold. Then the extremely harsh Fifita incident happened in possession and that seemed to breathe some life back into Fev. That was the turning point for me.

Heck I didn't realise Leigh were out there as well - no wander we lost !
