The Wembley Effect : Sun Aug 28, 2016 1:38 pm
Firstly congratulations to both teams for producing an intense final.

I just wonder what effect it will have on the rest of the season.

For Hull, I am sure they are professional enough not to party too much this week but it looked like an emotionally draining victory.
They're bound to have a few bumps and bruises so It's going to be difficult to get up for the game at Saints this Friday and they also have to face Wigan and Warrington in their last two fixtures.

For Warrington there was no shame in defeat, it could spur them onto the Grand Final, but the loss of Gidley and an away trip to Catalan aren't an ideal follow up.
Similarly they have to play Hull again and derby games against Wigan and Widnes.

It's going to be an interesting four weeks, it may well turn out that Wigan and/or Saints are the teams that benefit most from yesterday.

radford will send the kids to saints with a few senior players included, they did the job last season in the super 8s against saints so he wont have any worries about picking them, a weeks rest for some of our wembley hero's then fully refreshed for our grand final charge starting against wigan a week later

The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.
Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the LLS going to Hull or Warrington and both these teams at the Grand Final. Wigan, Saints and Catalans just seem below par on performances and mental toughness.

"Arguably the best Rugby League side certainly in the last 40 years!" Phil Clarke.

Hopefully it will re-ignite what has ,so far, been a particularly dull Super 8s.

Hull vs Warrington is the last league game.

It could be the same match up that decides each trophy this year!

Hull looked to have run out of steam last night.

Warrington and Wigan seem to have the momentum it should be a tough game next week.

St Helens most likely to be stuck in 4th, looking a bits scratchy but they've got a couple of games to polish up their act before the semis.

I think Hull have more to give. We actually played pretty well last night, we just didn't take our chances and made errors at crucial times. It was also the first game after Wembley for a good chunk of that team. Even with a week off the first game back is still a tough hurdle to get over, more mentally than physically. I still think a Wire v Hull final is the likely outcome, but all four teams are capable of winning it.

Also, I would argue Saints are more likely to finish 3rd than 4th. I can't see them losing to Widnes or Wakey, and they'll probably give their PD a boost in the process. Warrington must be favourites against Wigan next week?
