Well it's not really IMG to blame. They just came up with the criteria. It's the incumbent clubs in SL that have the most to gain from the current system as it's weighted heavily in their favour.
SL clubs will get whoever they want to take Salford's place. That will be regardless of on or off field performance.
Well, the decision is next week but we know super league clubs are self serving their interests (and I get it, as there is not much money in Rugby League as it is)
But will Super League clubs really want to fork out on travel to Toulouse and London and not get any of their fans in the return fixtures show up or do they go down the York and Bradford route, make a 14 team comp knowing full well they will take a fair few fans to the other grounds for increased revenue but this means less central funding for the teams as you divvy it up with 2 extra teams.
The next decision is probably going to be one of the biggest for the game that's happened in a very very long time.
I have enjoyed moments in the championship but I cannot wait until we are top tier again (whenever that may be).
