Thatto Heath Crusaders U15 won Wigan St Judes yesterday in the Lancashire final. St Judes have a host of the Wigan scholarship in their team including the very much highly rated Ben Fisher.

I'm led to believe that once again Chris Follin was head and shoulders above every other player winning MOM. Look out for this kid.

Went watching Thatto Heath Crusaders u15 vs Wigan St Pats on Sunday. In a second vs First place fixture. Thatto won easy 30-10 (i hink that was the final score) Chris Follin played centre and scored another 2 one of which was a 60 metre dash. looks a good player. Was also impressed with a number of the Thatto heath forwards who are all on Scholarship at Saints. None of the Wigan lads impressed me at all and apparantly quite a few of them are at Wigan, no wonder they're snatching lads from Yorkshire instead :)

Wigans academy and scouting are doing fine thanks, as six Grand Finals wins in seven years will testify.
SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

According to your chairman, Wigan spend 40% more than any other club on youth development, so it's hardly surprising.

The trophy cabinet at Wigan Athletic's Stadium must be pretty full with all them Academy grand final trophies. Well done!!

Well, maybe other teams should start to invest more in their academies. Further text deleted - no fishing trips today please.

When your business model depends on selling your best players to pay the rent, I suppose it makes sense.

I went to watch the u14 National Cup game Blackbrook v Siddal today. Blackbrook #6 and right wing had good games but Siddal were too strong all round and won comfortably 10 - 42. The Siddall #11 was outstanding and the #6 kicked goals from all over the field.

Lots of club scouts at the game.

Saints u/16 got smashed by Leeds Rhinos yesterday, the Rhinos lock forward Cameron Smith (brother of Daniel) is a gun player and scored 2 tries.
