Sutcliffe was solid enough, but was one of those players who just hung around too long IMO. You could make a case for keeping him, but we needed the kind of big shakeup we're finally seeing to begin years ago, and he would probably have left already if that had happened. Even if it doesn't work in terms of trophies, it seems like we finally have a plan rather than aimlessly plodding on tinkering with the squad and with members of the Golden Generation clogging up the place.
