Really pleased he is staying. I found it very odd that some people on here were suggesting we should let him go when his contract was up. He's clearly very well thought of by the club both on and off the field.

He's been one of our better players over the last couple of years. A 3 year deal is a long one. I wonder what role they see him playing. With Walker back in contention it's going to be interesting seeing how it develops

Yeah agreed, people was very quick to suggest he would be cut next year. Suprised its a 3 yr deal tho.

Hope he stays at full back hes been very good there.

This will give us some consistency in back up for halfback, and will no doubt save a few Bob on the SC due to the length of the deal. I can see him staying around the club in some capacity once this deal expires.

Deserved and he has a great attitude. When he lost his number he knuckled down and played for his place. Agar must have been impressed .it will run off on younger players too

So it's a 2-year extension on what he already had. Assuming we aren't paying him over the odds, he is a good clubman and we need to retain some experience around the place as the young lads come through.

I don't know if this sends a message that the club is confident that Jack Walker can really get fit and stay fit...

Good luck to him, he doesn't make my game day 17 if everyone else is fit but then the chances of everyone being fit after a couple of games is pretty slim. He has certainly taken the transition to FB in his stride.

Based on his performance levels the last 2 season well desreved.He has shown a great attitude and will provide a good example to our younger players. I wod also expect that his salary demands were reasonable and as has been suggested potentially an off field role within the club in the future. Looking at the way Leeds are potentially going to set up with a running 6 in Austin either Myler or Walker could step into this role if required.
Everything depends on Sezer staying fit! With Gale release we don't have any like for like cover at 7.

Pleased with this. I've been one of his harshest critics as a halfback but he has really changed my opinion of him seeing him play FB so well.

Best FB at the club for me. Well deserved.

Good deal by the Club, reliable robust best at full back (first choice) but covers half as well, Ifs buts and doubts about Walkers ability to stay fit, loan Walker out and get fitness back.

Glad to see his contract extended. I've been quick to comment in the past on his poor kicking game etc as a half but the last couple of seasons he's been an absolute model pro - never grumbled when the club wanted rid, got his head down, played wherever he was needed and done a fantastic job in a completely different position. Don't think you can underestimate what a fantastic member of the squad he's been last few seasons and he's a brilliant example to all the young players coming through. Brilliant professional for the kids to look up to and thoroughly deserves the extension. Be really interesting to see the Walker/Myler battle for FB this year. Fact that all the press is referring to him as full back shows what a great job he's done to make that place his own
