We might end up challenging this year if we get our best players back, but for me I'm already looking at next season as our big push. Give our young boys another year development and we'll be cooking on gas, even if they won't be at full potential yet.I am carried away with our young talent. I've seen most of them coming through, some playing against Aussie Schoolboys - you knew Mik would make it for one. I'm very confident in Holroyd too if he can stay fit for long enough. Edwards and Gannon will make first grade 100%. Definitely question marks over how a bunch of others will develop but I have no doubts that this crop is the best since the Goldens - long time between drinks!
There are several still in the academy who are real talents too - for a start will be amazed if we don't see the young Sinfield debut for Leeds in a couple of years. Luke Gale is towards the back end of his career now, and Eastmond is a) a gamble and b) also towards the back end. We really need some boom halves coming through over that timescale otherwise will definitely need to sign someone from NRL to compete. We saw what a difference Hastings made for Wigan - he's on our side and we win that game.
For me this is the best young Leeds pack we've developed since Diskin, Danny Ward et al.
