I understand from a well placed source Kev was hugely impressed by him in pre season with us. Very pleased to have him as is JP

Believe what you want but i was stood next to him when he said it. It was St Pats Chairman who told me he used to play there as a kid.

Doesnt matter anyway we are talking nearly 20 years ago now and im sure Long is a different character now.

I lost respect for him that day but sure that doesnt bother Long one jot. Hope it works out for him at Leeds. As players go he was brilliant.

I have my doubts about Long, but as you say, Jimmy Lowes bloody hell, hopefully he will never again darken the doors of Headingley

Happy enough with his appointment.People do change and mature,hope this is the case with Longy.Sinny and Richard Agar gave him the probationary once over in January and I'm sure they are aware of what he can bring to the coaching set up.Watching him summerising on sky sports is/was refreshing, especially since he seemed to keep phyliss clarke quieter, always a plus. Interesting what he said about Robert Lui.

Basically he said Lui was wasted on Leeds right side,and wasn't a fan off having the halfs regimented on either side,or something to that effect.

Not a good start then with publicly criticising his new boss on T.V
