It's always a bit of a lucky dip with players going over there and he could do well but my honest opinion is that he is very average and Leeds should be looking at other positions to strengthen.

I'm sure they are (looking).

Given that we're probably losing JJB and Ferres, maybe Ablett to injury, Sutcliffe and Smith need to improve and Ward is an injury case - we've now signed two second rowers and that looks about right to me.

Ideally I'd like another prop and/or hooker, and despite Myler's performance yesterday I'd prefer someone else in at 7.

Aside from that our squad looks much better for next year, and is vastly different from the one we had when McD was sacked.

25 NRL appearances but all in the last 2 years. He should be in his prime with his best years ahead of him and a big 2nd rower who can make breaks. Good signing. If he plays inside Konrad Hurrell that side will be devastating.

Mate, I’ve never seen him play and even I can confidently say he’s better than Jordan Thompson...

Have you been watching a different leeds team all year, 2nd row along with the halves have been the main problem areas needing strengthening. The Bulldogs fans seem pretty disappointed to see a 'very average' player let go.

Second row and halfback were the two areas where we absolutely had to strengthen.

Martin was called into the emerging Queensland squad at the start of this season, off the back of his breakthrough 2018.

I dont know much about him, other than he had a very good 2017 world cup, but he seems highly rated by a lot of NRL fans. Sumthing iv noticed is that he seems to be highly rated by fans of NRL teams other than Canterbury, seen plenty of comments saying he's a loss to the NRL.

I would have been very happy with Joel Thompson but Martin is a big upgrade for our 2nd row.

Some decisions for us to make for next year: do we run with Lunt and Dwyer for one more year, get Johnson developed a bit and then see if he’s ready for first grade in 2021? Or sign another senior hooker now?

Do we allow Myler to run at 7 for the remainder of his contract, or look to replace him?

Retain Cam Smith or allow to leave?

Sign another prop and release a few makeweights, or run with the bigger squad depth?

Interesting six months ahead.

Some very big decisions to make. Should be interesting to say the least and generate lots of debate. Quite an overhaul of the squad.. of which weve not seen the like since the days of Andy Hay Ryan Sheridan etc..
