The thing with Liverpool is, yes, they do have a fantastic team, and manager, and are definitely a much bigger club than Leeds, but they are very reluctant to spend big on transfers and wages. I saw a stat the other day, and Huddersfield have a higher net spend than Liverpool over the last 5 years. They essentially been living off the Countinho transfer fee, and reinvested it very wisely. However, it now looks like that well has run dry. They also lost Wjinaldum on a free last year because they wouldn't pay him his market value in wages, and it's looking increasingly likely the same thing is happening with Salah. Salah is the best player in the world at the moment, so if you don't pay big wages on him, who will you pay big wages to?
I can see Klopp packing it in if the board don't change course.
