To be fair why would he want to join Champions League playing, title chasing Liverpool who have a long history of success when he could stay at 15th in the table Leeds Utd who have a transfer budget which alllows them to raid Derby County?
What he says publically and what hes telling his agent will be 2 totally different things. He wont want his house getting vandalised and his family abused by Leeds fans. Of course he wants to stay at Leeds.....
Liverpool can be tight, thats their choice but £40m isnt the right price for Phillips. £60m and he will be learning the words to you'll never walk alone 5 minutes later.
