Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

Stephen Kearney would be a great choice - integrity, class and a heap of knowledge - him with Burrow and Sinfield - dream team

I also think many players were no longer responding to his methods. An internal fix of the group you suggest to raise spirits and morale sounds most likely. However it is not a usual GH move to do this with no plan of a successor, so someone may already be tapped up.

If not and we are looking for an experienced fixer to get players at it to end of season, the only name I can come up with is John Kear with burrow as assistant. I am not saying this would be my ideal solution long term
I am surprised at the timing however it has been coming for a while

John Kear - f**k me - the players will be back in ankle boots and shirts with laces

There is only one person to bring in short term - Kevin Sinfield, it wont happen as he has burnt his bridges with GH

People keep saying Sinfield, but he has stated often enough to that he has no interest in being a coach, not going to happen.
Somebody mentioned Jason Demetriou, that's a very good call. Could be a the next super star coach, done his apprenticeship well.

Exactly, Sinfield isn't going anywhere as a coach. He should have Hetheringtons job, simple as that.

Sinfield has never once shown an interest in coaching, quite the opposite.

Sinfield gives a dimension that Demetriou can't i.e. an understanding of what is required in really big games - Leeds needs some inspiration from someone who has been in the trenches and won the war - Demetriou may well be a longer term plan but he isn't a man for the here and now.

Players need to respect the voice and believe it - what has Demetriou got on that score - he's coached some second grade teams to win a meaningless competition in Australia. Very average player in his time in SL

For me a good coaching team would be Tony Smith and Rob Burrow but then if you take Rob from the Academy you need to find a successor? I’d also find a spot for Chev Walker . TS to mentor both with a view of developing a long term successor. I keep hearing we have good coaches in the background at Leeds can none of these be developed alongside a mentor type personality?

That is not what is needed right now - what is needed is inspiration and belief - Sinfield dragged those and many of the players still there to heights they never believed possible.

Head coaching isn't about technical skill - which is why Kear has never reached the heights its about people management - something Sinfield is pretty obviously pretty good at.

Your a football man - why was Ferguson such a good coach - why is Bennett held in such high regard etc.
