Leigh have shipped Sam Stone to Salford which probably eases their quota dilemma and may mean MacDonald stays there. Based on his WC showing that may be no bad thing..

No idea whether we are signing him or not but wouldn't rush to judgement on the basis of the WC. He was unfortunate to be playing right centre (not his position anyway) in a PNG team that was almost totally left sided. Didn't see him get a decent pass all tournament. I don't think Stone going to Salford changes things as he'd already been released, but may well be wrong.

Leigh still currently have 8 non-fed players, even when you assume that Lam is getting a dispensation. Asiata, Ipape, Ferguson, Leutele, Amone, O'Donnell, Nakubuwai and Macdonald. I know that Beaumont has come out and said that he thinks he can get around the rules by loaning one of them out every two weeks to a duel reg partner, but that doesnt get around the registration problem on the 1-December. Unless the rules are significantly changing, Leigh still need to get rid of someone...

Fair comments on MacDonald. Wasn't so much a judgement of his abilities, more a reflection of how little involvement he had.

We've been here before with sides testing RFL rules. They're about as watertight as a coachload of octogenarians after a brewery visit.

Morning everyone, sorry the update is late, we rearranged for breakfast today and you will like one bit of it lol. So the swap deal is between us and Huddersfield and I can’t get anymore out of that because it’s very close to being finalised. Tetevano has been given an ultimatum, either he shapes up or he can find another club, so far he is staying which is unfortunate, because he was pathetic is the WC. The centre situation is still being explored with even more names in the hat, we have approached Salford for Lafai but are we going to shell out a fee and here’s one for you, Kallum Watkins had a conversation on the a phone with GH, which was witnessed by a colleague of my mate, what a return that would be! No more information on it but there are a lot of meeting going on over the next few days and we are meeting on Thursday afternoon again so I will dig. It still isn’t a no on Nene but reading the current lines you would expect him to stay at Leigh. I asked about the Wigan and Catalans shake up and apparently it’s mainly Catalans who have basically told half their squad they can leave. But they are now throwing the kitchen sink at trying to replace them and approaching multiple clubs to buy players, even Saints were approached for Percival which was a resounding no from all parties. Josh Griffin and Chris Satae were enquired about aswell for huge transfer fees, so that’s what is meant by it. That’s it’s for today guys.

Really hope we go all out for Lafai in the centre.
Much prefer him over Watkins.

As for the swap deal with Hudds.
Not sure there's too many of their squad I'd want.

Yates - yes
Will Pryce? - yes

Could see Johnson or Tindall going there for game time.
