As i said earlier in this very thread, there was a super league team out on the lash in headingley on Saturday... Now I'm np doctor, but there were nunerpus players who appeared to have some sort of IBS with the frequency of their trips into the toilet cubicles. They also appeared to be suffering from hayfever (it is rife currently) with how much they were sniffling and rubbing their noses.....

Rugby league should follow the example of Tennis IMO. 1 year ban if it’s a non performance enhancing drug.

Last April, a month after reaching a career-high ranking of 41, Britain's Dan Evans failed a drugs test at an ATP event in Barcelona. He had taken cocaine.

This weekend, the 27-year-old will attempt to qualify for the ATP Challenger Tour event in Glasgow, having been awarded a wildcard by the Lawn Tennis Association on his return from suspension.

Evans could have faced a four-year ban but that was reduced by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) because cocaine is not performance-enhancing.

Comparing Tennis to RL is like Comparing MMA to Tiddlywinks.
We are a full contact sport played at 100mph 2yrs ban should be a minimum punishment.

For me shouldn’t be a ban at all, its non performance enhancing. Clubs however should put their own disciplines in place, including sacking, for such poor attitude towards their careers, and those same clubs should work together with the same values.

couldn't disagree more. Sports and their governing bodies have a social function and responsibility that extends beyond the 80 minutes on the pitch, and they shouldn't delegate responsibility for managing this to clubs.

And that’s fair enough, but I disagree. Non performance enhancing shouldn’t be for the governing body to deal with.

As an individual I am dead set against drugs. That said I have many friends who use cocaine socially, the only effect something like coke will have on a players performance will be detrimental to his performance thus the player and his club suffering anyway. In house sanctions would be the best I agree.

How it can be more rife in public in our sport than a sport like football where the players live glitzy lives is laughable. It's once again the media wanting to show RL and not their precious football or union in a bad light
