My all time favourite Leeds player and was lucky enough to see him play from the late 70s right until his final game for the Alliance team.

Very sad news. In my 50 years of supporting Leeds and watching the many stars over this period without doubt John was one of the very best. His vision and passing ability were outstanding and he was an unselfish player who had the rare ability to put his teammates into space and give them the glory.

There will no doubt be a tribute at next weeks game but I think it would be very fitting for a major song all around the ground of ''One John Holmes' at a point(s) in the game.

Hopefully John will be up there watching his beloved Loiners get through to the Grand Final

A fantastic player who was one of the best in the game, and simply oozed class when he was on the pitch.

It would be a fitting gesture when the Southstand is upgraded, to rename it in memory of this great Leeds player.
