Everything posted on here is in the main someone's opinion.... HOWEVER my opinion on the consortium differs to yours because I think they are a good bunch of men who certainly have Halifax RLFC's best interests at heart and because of a narcissistic shareholder who can't allow someone else to take control of his "play thing" decides his only option is to cajole another shareholder into dismissing this opportunity out of hand without even listening to their plan. Halifax have been in freefall for several years, with bad stewardship mostly responsible in my opinion and it's no different now. Messrs Croad and Abbott had their chance and almost completely fooked the whole thing up.... And if those 2 had anything but their own interests at heart then I'm Ghandi.....

It is a disgrace that a group of 10 pretty prominent local guys are been fobbed off and ignored, which is why I'll do all I can to get them heard... They're a decent bunch who can take the club forward, fans will like what they hear, I'm sure of it, but yet again everything is being done to make sure that this potential deal is swept under the carpet and the fans are none the wiser, yet again...

I'm at a complete loss as to why the same shareholders were tight lipped and had no voice when Croad and Abbott wanted to mortgage the shay up to the hilt, cos that was great business.

This group are switched on, clever businessmen who want Halifax to prosper and move forward and will utilise their business acumen and cash to try push the club to be better, ran properly with a commercial function that delivers fresh and sustainable revenue streams... That with the extra c200k each year is going to make a huge difference and I'm open to anyone that can tell me that it wont....

What's to stop this group making theirselves and their plans public? I'm sure most Fax fans would like to know what is going on at our club.

But, right now, there is just as much substance to your words as there is everyone else’s - none.

No hard facts, no evidence, just a noise! Just like all Fax fans, I want investment in the club and would love to see the blue and whites buck the hardest efforts of the RFL and get back into SL.

What I don’t want is another set of chancers shushing their way into making the club look ridiculous and almost collapsing and taking the shay with it! We’ve seen that before.

Show your hand. Let us know who these people are and what they want to do. Or maybe they could?

Until that point it’s all just wind and hearsay and don’t be offended if the fax faithful dismiss as such

I'm sure that will come in time but right now I cant break their confidence. As I'm sure you can appreciate they had a pathway shaped out that included the main shareholder and the current BODs to ensure that the communication was conducted in the correct manner. Sadly the current BODs have chosen to just ignore them and the Shareholder involved has been jostled by another shareholder who is reluctant to let his play toy go....

What I will tell you is that 10 businessmen signed a formal declaration of interest in Halifax RLFC and agreed between them a 5 year injection of monies, sponsorship and commercial expertise that they hope will revive our great club and give it some stability and sustainability in terms of the commercial side.

Due to the way current representatives of Halifax RLFC have conducted themselves I've posted this post to make fans aware of the shambolic behaviour in which the club is currently operated in the hope that the consortium dont just give up and walk away... They genuinely have a plan to take the club forward and I hope they get the chance to pitch it

All this smacks of someone having had a conversation with someone about a possible takeover of the club, not receiving a favourable response. They have then hooked someone in selling them this ‘blue sky’ scenario of what they will do for the club. Said person has then posted this on the forum, launching personal attacks on the current BoD and shareholders in the process. Says a lot about the integrity of people involved when they get someone else to spout off and sell the story because they haven’t got the bottle to do it themselves - yet they will share the forum post all over the clubs social media outlets!! Just my tuppence worth!!

If the 10 are set in stone and everything is in place then why are people still been asked if they want in? An ex-director was asked only a couple of days ago and dismissed the offer out of hand after hearing the people involved and what their vision was.

Chris I respect your opinion, and we have had similar opinions about the club and how it is run over the years, but in this instance you are been played by a group of people who are using you to stir things up.

Re: Club Takeover : Wed Jun 05, 2019 7:44 am
Thank you to those who pointed me to the Companies House shareholder list.

Some interesting points.
- Whilst Mr Steele clearly converted his “loans” into shares he is not a majority shareholder so if the others feel the offer is worthwhile he can be outvoted.
- I hadn’t realised that Mr Posner, who has gone south, had moved his shares to Mr Turner, as they are friends I suspect that was for nothing and increasing his involvement. I also don’t think we really thanked him enough for what he did for us when we really where in a mess...twice.
- I see the business guru (lol) Abbott is still a big shareholder, is that why he still gets a free box etc at every home game (as does Mr Croad), did they do a deal to get their investments back in kind, so are not such great benefactors after all?

Last point. Still no names for the “ten disciples”. They should put up or shut up all they have done is undermine the BOD and hired Chris Smith as a rather illiterate mouthpiece.

Chris smith. Fax have never owned the shay so how can you make out that Croad and Abbott was trying to mortgage it to the hilt. Abbott wanted to buy the shay but was nowhere near getting it. All you ever post on here is pulling the board apart that has kept the club solvent for years.
