With no reasoning, but hey, Leigh fans are not the most intelligent in the game.

This is a genuine question, with no agenda; why? What do you think leaving with no deal looks like, and what effects will it have on our economy?

And is no deal even an end result?

When you listen to some ardent brexiteers, they seem to forget the fact that even if we leave the EU on the 12th with no deal, the EU will continue to exist, and will still be a major trading bloc on our doorstep.

At some stage, we will need some sort of deal with the EU. Don't really understand why some people advocate leaving before we reach any agreement with them.

The strange thing about all of this is that if we treated the 2017 GE as a referendum, the Tories would be out, as they only got 42% of the vote.

Re: Brexit Referendum : Sun Apr 07, 2019 6:16 pm
Surely Brexit will be put on hold now.
The 2016 referndum produced a majority of 1.27m to Leave. That majority now does not exist. From January 19th 2019 there is now a Remain majority.

As we now know the benefits of Leaving the EU which we were told about during the referendum campaign are untrue. From the "Leave" meeting I attended the two MP's told us all about the Free Trade Deal which would simply continue as now due to the EU needing us more than we need them. Also we wouldn't pay a penny more to the EU from the day we Leave. You've heard all the rest.
Leave won the referndum due largely to the claims made which were untrue. The two MP's which told us all those lies are now actively demanding a "No Deal" exit.
No wonder trust in politicians has never been lower.
Either another referendum or simply revoke article 50.
There is now no Majority to Leave, they therefore have no mandate to Leave.

You could say that about most of the governments that we've had over the last 100+ years and if you take account of the poor turn out at some elections, the picture is bleaker still.
Even in the Brexit referendum, around 30% of those eligible to cast a vote either didn't want to or, couldn't be bothered, a bit like Corbyn during the referendum

You can keep saying this but it still doesn’t make it true.

Ever thought of being a politician?
