Yep, really enjoying it. Sort of like a cross between The Wire, Luther and Shadow Line. Get the feeling there'll be a couple of twists and turns before the end.

I have never wanted so much harm to come to a child than the little brat in this. Great telly though

at least the cop(arnott?) managed to put the nut on him before he got his finger nails cut very very short by the bolt cutter !!!!!!!!!!!

Have a look on the iPlayer and watch Bert and Dickie if you missed it last night and want to warm up for the Olympics rowing competitions, a simply wonderful drama set at the 1948 Olympics and contrasting beautifully with what we are seeing and doing now.
