Re: Doing a speech : Tue Feb 28, 2012 10:14 am
I just want to thank everyone who gave advice in this thread. I’ve took some of the things mentioned into consideration and I’ll be speaking next Monday. Someone is travelling from Manchester to see me speak and to offer me potential employment.

My local MP Stuart Andrew just tweeted that I should just speak from the heart. So all is going well :)

I'll just be doing the final tweeks to my speech for the rest of this week.

What entrance music should I have?

The older I get, the better I was

Advice is what we seek when we already know the answer - but wish we didn't

I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full-frontal lobotomy

Rather than speak from the heart, you could always follow the lead of le Petomane and speak from your arse

As a Leyther, you’re one of us the moment you come here to wear the shirt. I don't care where you were born, what colour you are, what religion you are, what language you speak. You're one of us, part of our culture, writing our history as you create your own, and making us stronger for it....

BTW.. it's 'giving' or 'making' a speech, not 'doing'. Something else... brush up on your grammar.

It might be, but I think Damo got it right from the off.
He'll 'do' the speech much as a thug might 'do' a person.
