After twenty-five years of following Leeds home and away I have now emigrated to Spain for a new life and am no longer in a postition to preview and report on matches. While I will still take in the occasional game my rugby league will mostly be confined to being an armchair spectator so I've come to the conclusion that it is time for a new era for SouthStander.com.

I started publishing match reports online in 1996, firstly as an independent website, then as part of the Rivals network and for the last twelve years on RLFANS.COM. It has mostly been a delight and I've been with you all through some tremendous highs and a few forgettable lows.

I am looking for volunteers, hopefully a team of volunteers, who would be prepared to do the odd preview and report for publishing on the site. I can still comment from the sidelines (via SKY or the BBC) and will still cover the occasional game that I get to see live.

Please get in touch by PM if you think that you can commit to help to keep the site alive.

Thanks to everyone for your support and kind words over the years and hopefully we can keep the site going. In any case, there will be no changes to the message boards.

Just saw this thread the other night and only now have time to respond.

I very rarely contribute to Southstander anymore but I’m still an avid reader from time to time and I have enjoyed every single match report that I read of Pauls. Thanks a lot for your time and effort!

As far as I’m aware Sal, Mark, Foxy and maybe Tad has written match reports before so maybe a few of them can keep things ticking over. Match reporting never has been for me.

I can only echo what Paul has written that it has been mostly tremendous highs and a few forgettable lows so I highly recommend people get involve. I had a great time writing The Damo Bit and I’ll always be grateful to Paul for letting me do that.
