it's pretty clear none of you have a loving clue about people do you! Prove to me what I've said isn't true? The fact is I know what I've said is accurate, and people like AP wouldn't/doesn't have the objectivity to listen to people because he's a loving idiot as has being proven time and again.
This 'holiday' has no benefit at all, certainly not with Radford showing videos and not having the qualification nor understanding as to why people do things under stressful circumstances and how to overcome them. if you understand what actually makes people tick and how to motivate them, negate negative thoughts when working (or playing rugby in this case) you remove as much as is possible the chances of folding/failing. That happens all the time in RL as it does in many sports. Having an inexperienced coach whom clearly in his playing days couldn't motivate and didn't have the mental fortitude that's required isn't qualified to instill mental toughness in his charges, certainly not through showing a video and then not saying anything meaningful...
Calm down.
Some of what you say may well come from life experience that you have and may well be true. BUT you are getting a tad heated about a 30 minute snippet of an entire week in Portugal.
I have been on many many courses professionally and have learnt a great deal from them. Most of what I have learnt in life has come from listening to experienced people who have been there before. I suspect this is how most people learn. Either that or through personal mistakes.
Now I am not Radfords biggest fan by a long way. I sit in the I will give him a chance though I'd rather we had someone more experienced, camp.
I hope it works out for him, but I am certain he knows that if we are struggling at Easter he may well be out. That's the reality as I see it.
Now how he avoids that is up to him and his back room staff. Many of whom will have a range of experiences and may well have been on many courses that you and I are not privy to. Therefore you can not state with absolute certainty what you claim.
AP is as far as I can see a successful business man. Ok he's not Alan Sugar or Richard Branson but he has done very well. I'm sure he is comfortable with his decisions. He may well know he's made mistakes, many of us have recognised some. But to rant on because you feel Portugal is a luxury that isn't needed is making you look silly.
By going there the team can guarantee training. Something you can't do in December in the UK. A week or two lost now can make a massive difference in Feb, March, April.
I would suggest you lower your blood pressure and if need be come back in April and then say I told you so. For the time being though, enjoy Christmas and back the club you claim to support.
