1975 Video Footage of Salford Greats : Wed Dec 17, 2014 9:55 am  

For anybody who's interested and not seen these old video's there is some footage of a few Salford greats in International action. England v Wales, NZ v Wales and Australia v Wales.

Kenny Gill, Keith Fielding, Peter Banner, Colin Dixon, David Watkins plus others that served us later - Bill Francis, George Nicholls and Frank Wilson. To find these go to a very popular video website and type in:-

England v Wales Rugby League World Championships 1975, Wales v Australia etc. The video's are broken down in 3 and 4 parts.

There is some very interesting stuff, Kenny Gill's great ball skills, Fielding's blistering pace, Jim Mills stamping on someone's head and Bill Francis almost taking Ken Gill's head off and cleaning him out cold. The New Zealand v Wales game was very lively with plenty of biff.

If you haven't seen them enjoy!! They are certainly worth a watch if you are kicking your heels over the Christmas Holidays.

Yes it's got to be the worst incident I've ever seen on a rugby league field . A deliberate heavy stamp on the New Zealand players head and it was totally unprovoked. If it happened these days a player would be admitted to a psychiatric hospital for professional care. This match in general made the welsh look like a bunch of thugs with other incidents like intentionally standing on grounded opponents ankles.
