It's very different as loans are for a minimum one month initially. The controversy generally surrounds players that play in the Championship for an odd week or two on dual reg when returning from injury or not needed for their parent club, and those are exactly the ones who parent clubs wouldn't want to loan out because of how often they're needed for their own first team.

The whole DR system is a FARCE as signing overseas crocks shows "development" up for what it is.

Another system that does the game in this country no favours in the long term.

If it is just young players going out on loan for a few months to gain experience then the system is fine. The championship club gets a talented players services for free, and the Superleague clubs get back a, hopefully, improved player.

I don't like the fact that some clubs seem to abuse it by just sending out guys who just returning from injury for a game or two.

But then there is no obligation on the championship team to play any of the players offered to them.

The thing is, the leagues are exactly where players not quite ready for SL first team (whether age or fitness) should be playing.

It seem crazy to me that people promote inventing a whole competition which next to nobody would watch to give these players playing time, when the lower leagues are crying out for their quality. Its nuts.

The problem is we have included them in the same competition raising serious questions about legitimacy and fairness.

Exactly.......but it does explain why the inane system was accepted in the first place.....championship fans believing anyone could be promoted

I know its in the past and we should move on but I liked the A team games better were if a player was coming back after a injury got game time till he was fit or a player playing crap for the first team got dropped to the A team and new player got match fit
