Once again, and just for clarity, a pass is forward based on the angle it leaves the players hands. The concept is simple and Girmmy and FerociousAardvark are correct and it cannot be measured in metres. When the ref fails to see the pass as it leaves then judging gets complicated by the factors mentioned by KnockersbumpMKII. Let's not get confused and fall out arguing about different things. No, you're the one under the delusion that the movements of the ball after it has left the passer's hands, or relative to "the catcher" are relevant. They're not. I prefer the actual rules to your imagined version. The movement of the ball relative to the catcher is about as relevant as his cock size, if that helps you.
